To promote and implement resource recycling, waste reduction and recycling, EPA has summited a major public infrastructure project: A promotion plan of waste reduction and resources recycling, and the project has been approved by Executive Yuan in April 2022. This project aims to implement the reduction and recycling plans of waste wood (including construction and demolition wastes) in accordance with the above-mentioned project. By collecting baseline data, identifying barriers, assessing legal/technical/economic feasibility, this project explores the possibility of promoting private participation in the use of waste wood (including construction and demolition wastes) sorting and pretreatment facilities, thereby promoting the opportunities for government and private sector cooperation to properly dispose of waste wood. In addition to above-mentioned data and assessment results, this project also refers to the “Act for Promotion of Private Participation in Infrastructure Projects” and related regulations, and takes into account the results of land acquisition negotiation between EPA and other competent authorities to establish necessary documents before public notice, such as feasibility study, preliminary planning and tender documents (draft), assisting EPA to implement tendering process.
